MADMEN CAP "WORST-TO-FIRST" SEASON WITH

24-10 WIN OVER LAS VEGAS IN TFL SUPER BOWL;

Favre named Tradition Bowl MVP

February 27, 2011 - DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES- Brett Favre hoisted the TFL Richard Caldwell Trophy in the air and yelled, "We did it - Worst to First" as the Motor City locker room broke out in an insane celebration following the Madmen's 24-10 win over Las Vegas last night.

In a game that never seemed to establish a real flow for either team's offense, it was the rather pedestrian Motor City defense, led by veteran Kelly Gregg (7 tackles, 1 sack), that rallied the Madmen by keeping Las Vegas off the scoreboard for the entire 2nd half.

With the Storm defense continually double-teaming Madmen wideout Brandon Marshall, Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles did just enough to keep the prolific Motor City ground game going while Favre made just enough Big plays through the air.

Favre, who was named Super Bowl MVP, completed 15 of his 22 passes for 261 yds, burning "Revis Island" for a game-long toss of 50 yds to Randy Moss for a game-tying 7-7 score in the 2nd Qtr. It was the longest pass reception allowed by the Storm defense all season long.

Motor City took their first lead of the game (14-10) with 10:48 remaining in the 3rd Qtr as Adrian Peterson raced 13 yds to pay dirt. Peterson finished the game with 115 yds on 27 carries, while J. Charles chipped in with 41 rushing yds - 18 of which came on a 1st Qtr. run.

Storm Clouds started forming for Las Vegas early in the 4th Qtr when the Madmen defense stiffened after Las Vegas had a 1st and 10 from the Motor City 12 yd line and failed to punch it in. Then came the real ball-buster - Phil Dawson shanked a 22 yd. FG that would have made the score 17-13, but kept it at 17-10.

Motor City seized on the good fortune and went on a 10-play scoring drive that was capped by a Kenneth Darby 2 yd plunge. Key plays on the game-icing drive came from the Madmen's Big Players, as Favre and Marshall hooked-up for 31 yds right after a 14 yd screen pass to Adrian Peterson had moved the Madmen out of the shadow of their own goal post.

Motor City fans and players soon had to be strapped down on "victory" gurnies and sent back to their padded cells at Insane Asylum Field as Favre lined the Madmen up in the "Victory Formation" and kneeled down for the game's final play.

An improbable season that should give everyone hope for years to come. They will always recall the year that Motor City went from a 4-12 TFL doormat to the top of the TFL Mountain.

This was a fun and memorable season, and I want to congratulate Jim and his Las Vegas team for a wonderful campaign as well. I know that my team was not the best, but we came together at the right time and the Defense, which was seldom seen during the regular season, showed up just in time for a Championship run.
