Game Story
| |||||
Travis Kelce completely dominated the action as the visiting team from Arizona topped Golden State by the score of 37 to 17. Kelce burned the Golden State defense with 12 catches for 199 receiving yards scoring 2 times. Drew Brees threw 37 times for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns. Arizona won the air battle out-passing Golden State 347 to 259 yards. The biggest play of the game was a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce that gained 75 yards with 5:06 left in the 3rd quarter. Arizona got ahead early outscoring Golden State 10 to 0 in the first quarter. They led at halftime 23 to 7. Arizona led after three quarters 37 to 17. Lamar Miller ran the ball 18 times gaining 110 yards and added a touchdown for Golden State . |
SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA
The Golden State Rooks had made a pretty good living this season on scoring in the mid to high 30s and not turning the ball over. Today they put up 17 points and had 6 turnovers.
Star of this debacle was Golden State "QB" Andrew Luck with 5 INTs.
Scott and I could feel right from the start that Strat was not pleased with my sacrificial offerings of KFC chicken and a coupon to Tuesday Midnight bowling at the local bowling alley in San Jose. Lots of rolls to use Arizona's player ratings, which is never good if you are Scott's opponent because his team is as close to flawless as I've seen.
Did I mention the NINE penalties on Golden State? Even Samuel L Jackson was tired of these mutherf*ckin penalties!!
There was a brief glimmer in there in the second half, again even again later in the 3rd quarter, where the sunshine of good rolls from Strat beamed brightly on the Rooks... ...But the golden shaft turned out to be piss instead of sunlight and it was back to the Medieval European Black Plague for me and my game plan. Strat was up to its old games of trying to send me to bed with blue balls again, but I was wise to it finally. Hard won knowledge like a Rocky movie training montage. Fool me once, Strat...
As for Scott, he called an excellent game. As in our first match up this year, Brees was a death-dealer on Long Pass, seemingly hitting more than missing. When he hit, they weren't pissy +27 yard Long Bombs like Andy "Dalton" Luck was throwing, no they were A MAN'S LONG GAIN for 75 yard TDs to cyborgs with names like Travis Kelce. It was like watching Air Wolf shooting football missiles through bad guy's heads for completions to MechaGodzilla (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechagodzilla).
MechaTravisKelce had a great game. Not only 12 rec for 199 yards and 2 TDs, but he also had a Great Player Impact on an End Run block to spring Le'Veon Bell for a SG. Speaking of Cowbell Le'Veon Bell, he put up a nice day with 23 attempts for 104 yards plus 3 rec for 16 more receiving yards.
Kelce-Bell-Biv-Divoe's Rooks counter-parts, TE Hunter Henry and RB Lamar Miller had a fine day as well. Hunter "My First Name is Hunter, Not Henry" Henry had 9 rec for 136 yards and 1 TD, while Lamar "Barney" Miller rushed for 110 yards on 18 carries. Where he really let everyone down was his 3 receptions for 3 yards, and THOSE WHERE THE ONE'S HE CAUGHT! Oh, the humanity! Crucial 3rd down and 3 yards play, in the Arizona red zone, mid 3rd quarter, the comeback is ON! I MEAN ON, MUTHERF*CKER! And what does he do? Flat Pass guessed WRONG, and the dice roll is 7. His only miss on his card. Pimpin' ain't easy.
All-in-all, not my favorite game of the year. In my opinion you should skip the re-run on TFL Network later this week, unless you are an Air Raid fan. There's probably something equally as terrible on the SciFy channel starring Ron Pearlman and Nicholas Cage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season_of_the_Witch_(2011_film).
"My balls will be fine" will be the motto on the banner hung on the side of the 1983 Chrysler Cordoba when the team rides in the Division Winners But One-and-Done Playoffs Losers parade to be held in San Jose next Wednesday near the KFC and local bowling alley.
Congrats to Scott on his win. His team is loaded (like a baked potato from the buffet bar at the local bowling alley in San Jose).
